Standing Here
Stand in your heart
and listen.
Burrow your roots
into the rich, dark earth
and draw forth
all that you need.
Bend only
to the whisper
of the wind through
your budding branches.
Stretch yourself lovingly
to the sky
and its infinite space
that contains you.
Let the sun
and the rain
caress you.
Feel yourself beautiful
and hear the farthest star
in the midnight sky
murmur its secret.
That you,
standing here
tall and strong and lovely
are always
and right now, enough.
