Studies are decided on by Jewel Teams. Students are arranged into age groups. Jewel Teams work together because they have similar subjects that they want to study. This lasts over the course of your educational career, even into adulthood. You use your Education/Employment Coach to find your Jewel Team. This is done once a year. We don’t know if some Color Scout is a master at language. And we wouldn’t want to prevent him or her from studying his or her passions. So, we would encourage him or her to have a unit center. Each subject is like a unit of study. Students can change their study course over time. In this way, we are able to develop into men and women that are culturally adept. We are entitled to pursue our interests. These are the things that make us thrive. You might want to be a President some day. Or you might want to be a Scientist. Girls and boys tend to study differently and have diverse interests. It is okay to know your place when your place is thrive and belonging. You are the master of your own studies. We love this about you, wren. Use your team to pick up your golden pen.
This form of study really makes you a maestro before you are eighteen. When you love learning like a Wren always does because he or she is supported in his or her brilliance and magnificence you simply pull together a program for yourself that stuns the world. Wren is peer led. That means that the expert is you and your fellow students and your teachers. A twelve year old can be an expert at many things, if he has the right environment. We are dedicated to your schooling environment. This is not just true for children and teenagers it is also true for every adult. Adults get PhD’s for studying Wren. You are a citizen with rights. This is a very important thing to be. You will receive a PhD in Foundational Learning as well as your high school diploma when you graduate. As a high school student age fourteen and above you can choose to go on with your studies to a Wren College where you can study for PhD’s. This would mean that you would also receive your high school diploma after three years of Wren College. You would not be required at the high school any longer.

The Beauty School Philosophy
We want every learning environment to be beautiful and welcoming and inspiring. So we have wooden corner cupboards with pretty things on them, nature altars, some comfortable seating areas, nice places to store things, kraft rooms, music studios, kitchens so we can eat and cook together, nice gardens that we can spend quality outside time in with plants and flowers, rocking chairs to sit in outside where we feed the birds, tree lined areas, easy parking, snack cubbies where we can go when we get hungry, couch libraries with books galore that are study books where we can spend quiet time when we need it, nice bathrooms, offices with computers that all school participants can use, a healing room with a massage table and an auditorium where we can all meet.
A Note about Self Care
Each person in a thriving school hive needs to understand how to take care of his or her own wellness. This means that the others in the hive have to respect and honor this need. So, we would encourage both teachers and students to take special care with themselves. If you need a break, take one. But make sure your job is covered first. If you need a snack or a real meal, get one. If you need art instead of movement go ahead. If you need to stay at home to rest or read, go ahead. If you need to process something that has come up for you, seek out someone from the Wellness Collective Team. We are here to support each other. So, ask for what you need. This is the seed for our collective thrive.
