The Rhythm of Art, Music, Dance and Writing

The Rhythm of Art

If you are studying art and want to be an artist you can find your rhythm in art. This starts with setting up your studio with your art or architecture table and your art supplies. Then you make art journals. There are different ways to art journal. They are listed below. Your PhD will be in Art, Art Therapy, Kraft and Hand Masonry. It is a three year course of study at Dakon University.

If you are doing this in an art group or doing any other type of art for Wren the basic art supplies you want on the table are colored pencils, markers and oil pastels.

Art Journaling for the Heart of an Art Major:

  • Art Through the Soul Rhythm- This art journal is a large scrapbook where you use images, words, pictures, stickers, dried flowers and leaves, matte board and paper with torn edges glued in, collage, poems, songs, designs and any other type of soul rhythm to express a season, a birth journey, a study journey, a relationship journey or any other journey that matters to your soul
  • Art Through Words and Designs- This art journal is an 8 1/2 x 11 spiral bound sketchbook where you use markers and colored pencils with words and designs that are free form to think and process and go deeper into your wellness
  • Studio Art- This is your journal that can be on canvas or bristol board or artist paper and these are your professional pieces that record your growth and creativity as an artist

The Rhythm of Music:

If you are a music major your rhythm must be music based. So, find your core songs. And base the way you use your time on them. A way to flow into music is to look frequently at love. Love is music. When you feel that urge to love and create deeply, pick up your guitar. Music is food and food is transition. Find your transition point. It’s where you can do nothing else but get out your guitar and play. You know this already because anyone that is a natural musician knows rhythm. You have a listening ear. So listen along to the song life is singing, maestro.

The Rhythm of Dance:

If you are a dance major you like to be embodied and full of movement and joy. Find your rhythm with listening to the body. This means your partitions to cultivate joy are always on your mind. Restore, rejuvenate, renovate, nourish and replenish. Always use your math. Be in the five. This is the thrive. It is no accident that you wish to dance. Sit outside and watch the birds. Don’t torture yourself. Eat frequently. And enjoy. Joy is your home, wind dancer.

The Rhythm of Writing:

Writer’s tend to like to think and study. So study your pen and when it wants to write. Use your hands both on the computer and in journals and in your calendar planners to develop your style and your flow. You know where to go when you get the first impulse. Follow it. This comes from source. Be sourced. Don’t be forced. This is your magic. When you are writing you are flying to the moon. And we are flying with you. Go ahead, moon beam, be real clean in your writing rhythm.

The rhythm that you use for your art or your dance or your writing or your music that establishes the way you use your time is very personal but also very acadian and earth-based. Creativity comes when we are inspired to create movement. Like a musical piece. A piece is a place to come home to and rest in and delight in. You might like to do the same things every day at the same time. Or you might like to check in frequently with your partitions to cultivate joy. My rhythm is morning based. But it is no longer day of the week based. I do my best work and am feeling best before dawn and into the light. And then I need to rest from being so creative. Look at your rhythm and see if it is earth-based. When you are eating vegetarian food and feeding the birds and observing nature regularly you tend to go into the earth’s system. That is what I have done. Find this as the natural way for you. And work accordingly. You can find your own rhythm but I doubt you want to stay up all night if you are following wellness and health. It seems like work is play and play always includes rest. Creativity must be rested after it shows you the way in.

If you are studying Dance or Music as your PhD you will be studying Art, as well. Writers can just study Writing. But all of you will get the Therapy PhD’s who are studying our creative works majors. Art majors don’t have to study Dance, Music or Writing but they must study Culture Stories. Writing majors must study Culture stories, as well.
